Meet Our Teachers!
Valentina
Valentina graduated in English and Hispanic Studies in Vienna. She has also worked as a teacher and tutor at the University of Vienna and has taught German at a high school in Catalonia. In addition to Easy Catalan, she currently works in a bookshop in Barcelona and is studying Catalan Language and Literature. Her passion for the Catalan language is unconditional, as well as her love for cats and traveling.
Biel
Biel holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting from Pompeu Fabra University and a master’s degree in secondary school teacher training from the University of Barcelona. Since then, he has alternated teaching Catalan and English with working as a musician, as he is part of several musical projects. Apart from teaching languages and music, what he enjoys most is spending time with friends and writing.
Renée
Renée graduated in Catalan and English Studies in Barcelona and then did a Master’s degree in Sociolinguistics in Groningen. She is a long-time language teacher and has taught Catalan, Spanish, English and French. She worked as a Catalan teacher for six years at several German universities, and also taught Catalan on summer courses with students from all over the world. Besides Catalan, she loves cooking and playing the electric bass.

The teacher will adapt to your level and prepare classes tailored to your profile and needs. This way, you will learn faster, as you will enjoy 100% of the teacher’s attention.
Each student decides how many classes they want to take and when they want to take them.
Each student decides on the regularity of the classes, depending on the teacher’s availability.

Each student decides his or her schedule, depending on the availability of the teacher, which will be from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (Catalan time).

People who can already have a conversation in Catalan.
You will talk with your tutor about everyday topics, adapted to your level, which will help you to enrich your vocabulary and consolidate your grammatical knowledge.

How Can You Join?
Step 1
Don’t think twice and sign up now!
Decide which type of course you are most interested in (classes in small groups, private classes or individualized conversation sessions) and press the “Register” button to pay for the registration.
If you have chosen private lessons or individual conversation sessions, you’ve already signed up. Congratulations! Now choose a date that works for you to start.
If you have chosen a course, you will receive an email with the information to complete the second step.
Step 2
Schedule an evaluation conversation
We want to make sure that you will be part of a group whose participants will have a level similar to yours.
To do this, we will ask you to answer some grammar questions and have an informal conversation for about 15 minutes with one of our teachers.
You don’t need to prepare anything! We will have a conversation and ask you some questions to assess your level and clarify any doubts you may have regarding the courses.
Step 3
Confirm your registration
After taking the test and holding the evaluation conversation, we will tell you which group would suit you best according to your level. If that’s what you’ve chosen, perfect! If it’s not, you can choose to join it anyway or accept the recommendation of our teachers and join another group.
Obviously, we will respect the decision you make. If it is impossible for you to attend the group classes we propose because of the schedule, we will refund your money.
*Each group must have a minimum of 3 people registered. As organisers, we reserve the right not to open a group if we do not reach this minimum number of students. If you find yourself in this situation and the course you have enrolled in cannot be opened, we will contact you to offer you a place in another group or give you a full refund of what you have paid for.

The groups will have between 3 and 6 participants.
Don’t worry, we will contact you as soon as possible to offer you a place in another group at a suitable level for you. If we don’t find a group that suits your level or if the timetable doesn’t suit you, we will give you a full refund.
All sessions will be held via Google Meet. We will also use email to communicate with students. In addition, students will have access to a web page where they will find all the material necessary for the classes.
You won’t need to buy any books to be able to follow the course, as all the materials will be created by your teacher and uploaded to the platform. Regarding the technical equipment, you will need:
- a computer
- good Internet connection
- a camera and a microphone so that we can see and hear you during the classes
Yes, the sessions will be recorded. By purchasing the course you are giving your consent to appear in these recordings, which can only be seen by your classmates. At the end of the course they will all be deleted.
No, there will be no refunds for classes you cannot attend. If you are part of a group you will have access to all the materials, even if you cannot attend the classes.
